It's a new year, and rather than attempt to persuade you to use the libraries to fulfill your resolutions, I want to whet your appetites for exciting things to come in 2024.
Watch out for a new website! We are finalizing the selection of a web designer, and if all goes well and according to schedule, we should have a new online look by June. Speaking of the web, we plan to add to our online resources. I don't want to give too much detail, lest it fail to live up to the hoopla.
You should be seeing some new faces as we fill our current vacancies. You might also see some faces that are not new to the Everett Public Libraries, but new to the one you frequent, as we occasionally shift assignments.
Rather than conducting a winter reading challenge, we challenge everybody to read 24 books in '24. We'll be providing you with some staff favorites, which we hope you'll enjoy, making it easy to finish two per month.
Happy new year!
Sincerely, Kevin Sheehan |

Parlin Yarn Club |
For their first-ever community service project, the Parlin Memorial Libary Yarn Club came together to create scarves intended for distribution through the Elliot Family Resource Center in Everett.
With the donations of yarn from library patrons, the Yarn Club crocheted and knitted 105 scarves for the community. Patrons also dropped off 45 other hand-crafted items for citizens this winter, including hats, booties, baby blankets and other essentials to provide warmth during the winter season. Bravo on a job well done!
Want to check out Yarn Club for yourself? Join them on Tuesdays at 7 PM in the Parlin Library. |
