A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR |
March is upon us and after the February weather we've had, I can't wait to see snow-melt mud. I think the worst of the snow this year is behind us (knock on wood).
Speaking of Knock on Wood, march forth, on March 4th to the Parlin Library to listen to the acoustic duo that go by that name strum some chords. Live music for free can't be beat! But of course, music is beat.. Isn't it strange how two meanings of the same word can make make two statements seeming diametrically opposed, in fact, true?
Circle March 14th on your calendars, because that's Pi Day, and there will be a Pie Swap at the Parlin Library. Free pie! Are Eu-CLID-ing me? Walk to us in Everett Square if you're within walking radius, so you can walk off the some abdominal curves on the way home!
Boston Creme Pie might be appropriate to mark March 17th, the 250th anniversary of the British evacuation of Boston caused by George Washington's siege. You can relish right-sided transportation as you drive or ride to the Dorchester Heights monument, where cannons captured at Fort Ticonderoga in New York were strategically placed. I've never been but I think I'll visit sometime soon. 2026 is our nation's 250th birthday.
