A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR

Every month is national something-or-other month, and this is no exception. I usually like to call things by their names, but this month I'll make an exception and wish you all, dear readers, a Happy Book Month!

Start your month by coming to the Parlin Library for Coffee Cupping! It's like wine tasting but for coffee! It's not on a work/school night for most people, and if you have the night shift, come in Saturday morning before work! If you could register in advance, it would help us in planning!

Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Stephen Kurkjian will be coming to the Parlin the 16th to present a talk on the Gardner Art Heist. Investigators searched a house in Everett a few years ago. Come learn more!

Last but not least, we've got games galore and ghouls too! The Parlin Library will host a Haunted Library on Friday the 17th from 7-9.  Fun for all!

The Haunted Library: A Literary Masquerade

All are invited to the annual Everett Public Libraries Literary Masquerade: The Haunted Library, on Friday, October 17th at 6pm. This is a free seasonal event with fun for all ages, as long as you don’t mind a few spirits of stories past coming out to play!

This year, we're excited to announce that the event has been expanded to not only include the free food, dancing, and entertainment you've come to expect, but also activities for our younger patrons! While the adults party upstairs, kids are invited to meet Snow White, enjoy some pizza, and have their own costume parade downstairs. It's fun for the whole family!

This event is COMPLETELY FREE and we can't wait to see you there!
