Welcome to February!
We hope you have started our 25 in '25 reading challenge, but if you haven't, right now is a great time to start. We will be closed on Monday, February 17th, in observance of Presidents' Day .
I want to take this opportunity to share our love for our Friends of the Everett Public Libraries who fund the supplies and/or refreshments of our programs (sometimes they fund the programs as well) and supplement our collections by purchasing library materials.
Likewise, I want to share our love of all who make possible your enjoyment of the libraries - Mayor De Maria and his office, our City Council, various city departments including Facilities, Payroll, Auditor's and Treasurer's, Solicitor's, Human Resources, Inspectional Services, Purchasing, IT, Communications, and others who chip in to help when needs arise. We can't forget Everett's Finest and Everett's Bravest who help keep us all safe.
Lastly, we love you, our patrons, who come in with smiles, share book recommendations, thank us for things we do that are just part of our job, share a laugh, or teach us some nuggets that we can pass on to others. It's our honor to be able to serve you.

The year is off to a wonderful start! We're excited for the community members who have already signed up for the 25 in '25 book challenge and for those who attended the first meeting of the Silent Reads Society to get those books started!
In February, we're happy to see the return of Blind Date with a Book, where patrons can be paired with a surprise book (and a sweet treat) picked especially for them! And if you're in the mood for love and crafts, make sure to register for the wreath making program happening at both the Parlin and the Shute! |
