A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR

October, and the trees are stripped bare,

of all they wear

What do I care?

- U2

What do you care?  Get a clue, U2! There's a lot to care about!

October is the month of our Alibis in the Aisles: A Literary Masquerade event on October 24th at the Parlin Memorial Library!  Come as your favorite sleuth or mystery character!

The Jewelry Exchange is Saturday October 2nd! Pass along pieces that no longer give you joy, and pick up some pieces that please you!

We have a performance by the Delvina Theater Company on the Salem Witch Hysteria, and an author talk about a Salem murder that some believe is connected to the infamous Black Dahlia case.

Music lessons will continue at the Parlin, and singer/storyteller Davis Bates will be presenting his Halloween Harvest performance.

Tell all your friends, family, and neighbors!

LIBRARY MASQUERADE

Saturday, October 24th from 6-9pm

Join us for a free seasonal event with fun for all ages as we come together to solve a mystery in the library! There is mischief amongst the shelves, but that won’t stop us from having a good time.

Mingle with fellow gumshoes, look for clues, and solve the crime before the night ends! Come dressed as your favorite mystery character, as judges will be assessing your attire as you gather evidence. Those that are best-dressed will leave with accolades and a treat!

The masquerade will include free refreshments for everyone, and entertainment for kids and adults alike. Nancy Drew will help our younger sleuths solve the mystery in the Children’s Department, while the older detectives will follow clues to solve the case in the stacks upstairs.

The game’s afoot! We invite you to become part of the story…
