The Friends of the Mansfield Public Library has been selected again as a nonprofit partner in the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program.
 
Your organization will receive $1 for each $2.50 reusable Community Bag sold during the month of August 2025 at:

Starting Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, the transaction fee for paying fines online through the SAILS Mobile App or online catalog will increase from $.85 to $1.25 per transaction.
The transaction fee only applies to payments made online with a credit or debit card. You will still be able to pay in person at your local library via cash or check with no additional fee.

We encourage patrons of all ages to come into the library to register and  join the library for a summer full of creative and engaging programming!!

Massachusetts Center for the Book 2025 Reading Challenge
How the challenge works:
  • Choose a book that fits the monthly challenge.
  • After you read, fill out this FORM to tell us about the book.
    • Using our submission manager, you will be able to log in and access the entries you’ve logged throughout the year.
    • Dedicated readers will be invited to a year-end celebration hosted by Mass Center for the Book.
    • We will be drawing two names on the last day of each month to win a free book! Make sure you get those entries in before the end of the month.
    • If you read a book in each of the 12 months, you will be entered in a drawing to win 1 of 2 totes filled with books.
Stop by the library to pick a postcard that lists all of the monthly challenges and a bookmark that allows you to keep track of what you read!

Level Up Your Yoga
with Revonda Mehovic (ages 18+)

Join us this summer at the library for yoga with RYT200 instructor Revonda.
 
This practice will be appropriate for levels 1 and 2 and will focus on matching movements to breath. Plenty of modifications for poses will be offered.
 
Please bring a yoga mat, water bottle and blocks (if you have them).

Pop Up Art School Presents: Needle Felted Axolotl (ages 13+)
 
Thursday July 17th
5:00 - 6:30pm
 
Needle felt the adorable axolotl salamanders of Mexico. Known for their smiling face and feathery gills you'll view pictures and learn more about them. In this beginner's class, Pop Up Art School will show you how to sculpt basic shapes using a barbed needle and wool roving. Needle felting is easier than it looks and it's fun and relaxing!

Join New Bedford Whaling Museum docents, Nancy Gentile and Capt. Michael Taylor, for an evening of fascinating information about New Bedford, Nantucket, arctic whaling, whaling wives, and 19th-20th century whaling. Includes a baleen and harpoon demonstration!

Spice Club: Jerk Seasoning
(for ages 13+)

A different spice is featured each month.

Each kit contains information about the spice, 2 recipes, and enough of the spice to make both recipes.
 
The Spice Club is open to ages 13 and up.  
One registration per family.  
Limited to 20 families.

ELL Conversation Circle (ages 18+)

This is a 45-minute conversation circle for adult English Language Learners who would like to practice their English speaking skills and meet new members of our community.
 
All levels of English learners are welcome.

Horror Sci Fi Discussion Group:
The Wicker Man by Robin Hardy

Do you love to read horror books and/or watch horror movies? How about science fiction books and/or and movies? If you answered yes to these questions, then have we got the book/movie discussion group for you! All horror and sci fi aficionados ages 18 and up are welcome to join in the discussion! Every other month we will focus on one title, read the book, watch the film (on our own) and then discuss the book and how the film measures up.
 
Robin Hardy's The Wicker Man is our JULY title. Copies of the book are available at the library. You can access the film by requesting the dvd through the library or by streaming it (with your library card) on Kanopy. It is recommended that you have read the book and watched the film at the time of the discussion.
