Houseplant Swap

Albright Memorial Library
Plant lovers are welcome to join the Library for this free event where they can find a new houseplant to care for, trade extra plants or cuttings, and chat and share tips with others. Participants are welcome to bring up to three plants or rooted cutting to the swap in exchange for a ticket to the event. Once Upon an Orchestra: Ben's Trumpet

Lackawanna County Children's Library
In collaboration with the Scranton Fringe Festival and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, the Library will present this all-ages, interactive story time that will teach kids about music and attending an orchestra concert. Three brass players will provide special music throughout the story to capture the spirit of the 1920s and the beauty of jazz music. Friends of the Abington Community Library Fall Book Sale

Clarks Summit United Methodist Church
Stop by the Friends of the Abington Community Library Fall Book Sale at the Clarks Summit United Methodist Church. There will be a preview Sale for Friends members on Friday, October 18 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Join or renew your Friends membership at the sale for $10 per individual or $15 per family. Thousands of adult, teen, and children's books, DVDs, and CDs will be available to purchase. Credit cards are accepted. 
Garden Club Presents: Introduction to Canning

Mary Ann Curtis, a food preserver volunteer from the Penn State Extension, will discuss the procedures for water bath canning and freezing as methods for preserving produce. Friends of North Pocono Public Library Book Sale

Media and bargain lovers alike, mark your calendars. Join the Library on Thursday, October 10 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. and Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. The Friends of North Pocono Public Library’s Annual Book Sale will be laden with literary gems as well as captivating CDs and DVDs spanning genres that cater to every taste. The best part? It’s a pay-as-you-wish event, allowing you to contribute what feels right while helping further the mission of North Pocono Public Library. We will accept book, CD, and DVD donations for the sale until Monday, September 30.

Fall Bulb Sale

Lackawanna County Government Center
Join Penn State Extension Master Gardeners in Lackawanna County in the Government Center Lobby for a Fall planting/Spring blooming Flower Bulb Sale. Master Gardeners will be present to answer any questions you may have. The prices will range from 50 cents to $2 a bulb. Bulbs on sale include Daffodils, Tulips, Allium, Iris Reticulata and Early Blooming Lawn Collection.
