Drumming with your hands and getting into the rhythm with the group can be therapeutic, hypnotic or just plain fun! Bring your own drum or borrow one of ours (supply is limited). This workshop is for beginner or experienced djembe drummers. Participants are also welcome to contribute to the group through the addition of sound layering using our percussion instruments. This group meets weekly indoors and as the warm weather arrives we plan to be outdoors through summer. Please note the time change to morning. Regular attendance is encouraged to build personal skill level and to progress with the group. Please join the waiting list if interested in this program and you find it full. We will notify you as spaces become available and as we move outdoors.

It focuses on two families and their two infant children, Andrew and Chrystyna, born in Western Ukraine at the height of the Second World War. Their parents fought for Ukrainian independence throughout the years of Polish occupation, the invasion of Stalin's Bolshevik forces and during the years of Hitler's Nazi terror. Join the conversations online via Zoom led by a registered dietitian from the South Georgian Bay Community Health Centre to learn how to stay well with diabetes. The group is held on the last Monday of each month to discuss different topics of interest, answer any questions you may have and to provide an opportunity to connect with other people in the community who share similar experiences. In this painting class by Zoom, local artist Jason Alexander will demonstrate how to paint the simple perspective of structures within a landscape setting. The subject of this month's class will be an abandoned farm structure. Jason will discuss the “thick over thin” painting technique and the layering of colour from shadows to highlights. He will discuss and demonstrate soft and hard edges and colour blending. All are welcome to join us whether it is to paint along or just observe the creative process. In May, the Bookmobile will be at the RecPlex on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. - sign up for a library card - borrow books, DVDs, launch pads for kids and more - save a trip to the library and arrange to pick up your holds from the Bookmobile location - Watch for our monthly schedule, events and alternate locations throughout the summer.

Blender 3D Short Scene Design - Part 4 Saturday, May 7 - 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. ONLINE In this multi-week online virtual workshop, instructed by professional animator Leon Arispunander, a Social Media animation project will be introduced using Blender 3D animation software. The goal will be for students to learn how to create a short animation for social media. Currently the group meets three times a month. 1st Tues of the month is online 7-9 PM. 2nd & 4th Tues of the month is in-person at WBPL 7-9 PM.
