(This is the second class of the portrait-focused series that began in Feb.) We will briefly review the steps that were covered in February’s portrait drawing class. This month… let’s paint! Students will learn more about the process of painting a simple front-facing portrait with a blue undertone as the base colour. We will discuss a “thick over thin” painting technique and the layering of colour from shadows to highlights. Intermediate to advanced skill level. You may participate with Jason as he provides step-by-step instruction or if you prefer, feel free to observe the creative process and take notes. Some students may choose to paint a family or loved one as their portrait. Please use a straight on portrait picture as a reference. You can also use your drawing image from the February Drawing Portraits class as reference if you wish. Free to participate. Click here for the supply list and to register for the Zoom details.
