Tuesday Feb. 22: 6:30-8:30 PM
In upcoming sessions of our Fine Art Series, students will focus on developing their hand-eye skills and learn how to draw a portrait (in February) with eventual goals of turning our portrait drawings into paintings (March 29th).  Your instructor will be local artist Jason Alexander.
On Feb. 22nd, Jason will demonstrate step-by-step techniques on how to draw a portrait.
We will discuss and give examples of capturing the essence of drawing faces while incorporating facial angle, gender differences, age etc. while addressing correct positioning and proportions of facial features.
Students will practice their drawing skills through two sample images (or an image of your own, if preferred).  We will build student confidence for our next class in March when we turn the portrait drawings into a painting with a blue undertone.
Intermediate skill level.  Anyone may feel welcomed to join to either actively participate or just watch and enjoy the creative journey.
