Read to a Dog
| Monday, May 8 | 3:30-4:30 PM |
Mitzi, a trained therapy dog, will be visiting the Lynnfield Library hoping to hear some great stories! Children may sign up for a 10-minute session and choose a book or selection from a book to read to her. Mitzi is a patient listener, so reading to her is good practice for readers who are still struggling a bit as well as pros. Registration is required.
This program is geared towards children in grades K-4. Space is limited to 6 children. When registering, please select an available time. Time to read to Mitzi is limited, so please arrive early if you need time to pick out a book. We may not be able to accept children who are late to their appointment time. If registration is full, please email lfdyouth@noblenet.org to join the waitlist.

Explore The Adams National Historical Park | Wednesday, May 10 |

Join us for a virtual lunchtime lecture! From the sweet little farm at the foot of Penn’s Hill to the gentleman’s country estate at Peace field, Adams National Historical Park is the story of “heroes, statesman, philosophers … and learned women” whose ideas and actions helped to transform thirteen disparate colonies into one united nation. Learn about this National Historical Park with Supervisory Park Ranger Jessica Pilkington. In cooperation with the Tewksbury Public Library.

Injury Prevention on the Golf Course | Wednesday, May 10 |
3:00-4:00 PM | Back pain slowing your golf game? Shoulder pain limiting your swing? Join Jaimee Mace, MSPT, for a presentation on golf injury prevention.
Learn about the most common golf course injuries, reasons why they happen, and exercises you can do to help prevent them. You will get tips about how to reduce pain during everyday activities and learn key stretches that can keep you on the golf course for years to come.
Jaimee received her Master’s in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in 1999. She is currently the owner of PhiT, LLC; a mobile physical therapy & wellness practice.
This will be a hybrid event. If you wish to attend virtually please be sure to register in advance with your email address.

50+ Job Seekers Networking Group
|
The Massachusetts Library Collaborative's 50+ Job Seekers Group meets on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, from 9:30am to 11:30am, and the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 6pm to 8pm via Zoom. You can attend either the evening meetings or the morning ones, and can pick the topics that will work best for you, or attend them all.

Join us for a 60-minute yoga flow! Instructor Tammy Syrigos Irrera will lead us through yoga poses over Zoom. Register with a valid email to receive the link to join the class. You will receive an email with login information a half hour before the class begins.

Join the Friends of the Lynnfield Library (FOLL) for our 2023 Spring Book Sale – it is a 2 day extravaganza!
- Friday May 12 from 5pm-8pm is our Members Only Sale (but don’t worry – you can join at the door!)
- Saturday May 13 from 9am-2pm is our sale open to all
The sale will be held in the Meeting House and on the Lynnfield Common. Come browse our huge selection of gently used books, from children’s to cookbooks to the latest bestsellers, all for 2/$1 to $2! Last hour (1pm-2pm) is $8 Bag of Books (we provide the bags)! All proceeds benefit the Lynnfield Public Library. Payments accepted include Venmo, PayPal, cash and checks.
Check out our flyer here and spread the word! We will have amazing raffle baskets provided by MarketStreet and many great community partners joining us, including the Lynnfield Historical Society, the Town of Lynnfield and MarketStreet!

The Springfield Armory commemorates the critical role of the nation’s first armory by preserving and interpreting the world's largest historic US military small arms collection, along with historic archives, buildings and landscape. Learn about this National Historic Site with Park Ranger and Historic Weapons Supervisor Susan Ashman. In cooperation with the Tewksbury Public Library.

Lynnfield 2040: Shaping Our Future Today

Lynnfield 2040: Shaping Our Future Today is a community visioning initiative spearheaded by the Planning Board and Select Board, where residents, business owners and other stakeholders can imagine the future of Lynnfield. This initiative will create guiding principles for the look, feel and operation of the Town over the next two decades, covering a range of topics from transportation and public infrastructure to economic development and housing.
