Adult Summer Reading

To celebrate the fifth week of Adult Summer Reading: Color Our World, staff members wore blue on Thursday, August 7. If you wear purple, next week's color, on Thursday, August 14, you'll win a special prize when you visit the library!

The library accepts donations for St. Vincent de Paul of Exeter and Lions Club International

Consider donating non-perishable food items to support St. Vincent de Paul of Exeter or usable eyeglasses to help Lions Club International.

Exeter Rotary Club is also accepting donations for old hearing aids. Donations will be used to help others at the Rotary Hearing Clinic in the Dominican Republic.

Donate your soda tabs to help the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth.

Items can be placed in the boxes on the table next to the Adult Information Desk.

Art in the Park is now the 2025 End of Summer Party! It will take place on Wednesday, August 20 from 11 AM - 1 PM. Join us in Founder's Park for tie-dying, face painting, snacks, and more! An item will be provided to tie-dye. Consider bringing a shelf-stable food donation for St. Vincent de Paul of Exeter as well.

Join us for All Day Gaming on Mondays and Thursdays, Bring Your Own Book Group on August 13 and 20 at 6:30 PM, and Refreshing Fridays at 3 PM.

On Tuesdays at 3 PM, join us for Silk Road Tie-Dying on August 12 and Snack Attack on August 19 and 26.

Children's Room Summer Reading 2025

Help fill our world and library with color this summer! Join us for a variety of activities!

The Children's Room Summer Reading program offers unique summer programming including different weekly club meetings, special event Wednesdays, and movie Mondays!

Children of all ages are welcome to participate in our reading log program! Children choose their reading goal each week, and when they reach their goal they earn a prize!

We hope you had a great time at the 30th Annual Stuffed Pet Show here at the Exeter Public Library Children's Room! All of our contestants were absolutely fluffy, adorable, snuggle-able, and more!

A special thank you to our judges, Detective Page and Lieutenant West from the Exeter Police Department. We couldn't have done this without your stuffed animal expertise!

Weekly Programs: Movie Mondays every Monday at 10 AM. All ages are welcome to drop in for a story time, followed by the family movie adaptation of the book! Story Times: All Ages Story Time on Tuesdays, all ages with an adult at 10 AM; Ages 3+ Story Time on Thursdays, ages 3-6 without an adult at 10 AM; Open Art on Fridays from 9 AM - 4 PM, all ages are welcome to drop in and make a craft!
Clubs (sign-up required): Mondays - Music Makers Ages 6-8 on July 14 and August 4 from 1 - 2 PM, Ages 8-12 on July 14 and August 4 from 2:30 - 4 PM; Weaving Workshop Ages 5-12 on July 7, 21, 28, and August 11 from 1 - 2 PM. Want to learn how to play a game? Want to make new connections in town? Join any of the many gaming groups at the library! 

Groups are open to all experience levels – beginners to experts. There is someone willing to teach at each group.

Language Tables- Korean first and third Tuesday, Spanish Wednesdays at 12:30, French Thursdays at 1 PM and Italian Saturdays at 10 AM

Interested in teaching a language? We are always looking for teachers or native speakers willing to start a language table. If you're interested, email exeterpl.programs@gmail.com.
