Peter Vorkink, Chair of the Religion Department, Emeritus, at Phillips Exeter Academy, will lead a discussion on The Stranger and The Fall by Albert Camus.
The Stranger will be discussed on Monday, January 12th at 10 AM and The Fall will be discussed on Monday, January 26th at 10 AM. Copies are available to be picked up at the Adult Information Desk. New members welcome!

Peter Vorkink spent a month in the summer of 1964 working with Martin Luther King, Jr in St. Augustine, Florida, at a time of intense conflicts and controversies involving the civil rights of all Americans.
This family friendly program invites folks of all ages to connect with living history, and includes audiovisual materials drawn from Mr. Vorkink’s scrapbook assembled in 1964 as well as documentary video clips of the events in St. Augustine as they happened. |

Curious about poetry? Unsure where to start? Come to this two-session series where participants will read and discuss poetry, discover hidden meanings, and find inspiration for their own works. Led by Becky Moore, a retired English teacher. Poets to be discussed include Natasha Trethewey, Tracy K. Smith, Robert Frost, and other poet laureates.

Saturday, January 24 at 11 AM Join longtime former public radio host Laura Knoy as she discusses her new historical novel, The Shopkeeper of Alsace. Heavily based on a true story, the book spans both World Wars, introducing readers to unknown places, forgotten history, and a real-life heroine they'll cheer for. |

NH Philharmonic has changed its programming for February! Celebrate Valentine's Weekend with The Many Shades of Love on Saturday, February 21 and Sunday, February 22 at 2 PM. An afternoon of arias will conclude with Sergei Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet. The orchestra also welcomes soloist Mark-Andrew Cleveland.

Music Makers: Ages 6-8 meet on the 2nd Monday of the month from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. Music Makers is a first introduction into making music in various formats with one of our librarians who has musical experience!
This program offers an introduction to music through drumming and percussion. This will range from playing along with music to so much more! |

| Art Club: Ages 6-8 meet on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 3:30 - 4:30 PM. Children can sign-up for Art Club to think outside of the box and create new, fun types of art.
Art Club will focus on exploring different art mediums and learning how to have fun while creating art! |

Wednesday, January 14 |
Weaving Workshop: Ages 5-12 meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 3:30 - 5 PM. Children are welcome to join Weaving Workshop! They will start by learning the basics of weaving by using construction paper looms!
They will also make miniature baskets by weaving yarn through paper cups, all the while learning about different fibers, yarn, and where it comes from! |

| Dungeons & Dragons: Stormy Nights (Ages 8-12) meet on the 3rd Thursday of the month from 4 - 6 PM. Children can sign-up for D&D to work together as a team to complete quests, slay monsters, and achieve personal and group goals within the game.
Through gameplay, players develop skills such as mathematics, teamwork, strategy, diplomacy, and multi-tasking. |
