American Independence Museum Opens May 15th - Open Thursdays through Saturdays 10 AM - 3:30 PM

Reserve your tickets today for Exeter's own American Independence Museum. The museum will be open Thursdays - Saturdays from 10 AM - 3:30 PM.

Help kickoff Exeter's 250th celebrations with the American Independence Day Festival on July 12th from 10 AM - 4 PM.

Exeter Rotary Club is accepting donations for old hearing aids. Donations will be used to help others at the Rotary Hearing Clinic in the Dominican Republic. Donations can be placed in the box next to the Adult Information Desk.

The library accepts donations for St. Vincent de Paul of Exeter and Lions Club International

Consider donating non-perishable food items to support St. Vincent de Paul of Exeter or usable eyeglasses to help Lions Club International. Items can be placed in the boxes next to the Adult Information Desk.

Lamprey Health Care has partnered with St. Vincent de Paul of Exeter to make weekly visits to the Community Assistance Center at 53 Lincoln Street on Fridays from 9 AM - 12 PM. Walk-in registration – no appointment needed!

Want to learn how to play a game? Want to make new connections in town? Join any of the many gaming groups at the library! 

Groups are open to all experience levels - beginners to experts. There is someone willing to teach at each group. 

Language at the Library

Language Tables- Korean first and third Tuesday, Spanish Wednesdays at 12:30, French Thursdays at 1 PM and Italian Saturdays at 10 AM

Interested in teaching a language? We are always looking for teachers or native speakers willing to start a language table. If you're interested, email exeterpl.ref@gmail.com.

Korean Lessons will be taking a break for the month of June. The next lesson will be on Tuesday, July 1 at 10 AM.

Teen Summer Reading 2025

June 16 - August 2

Free and open to all teens 12 - 18. Every time you check out, get two pieces of candy, a sticker or button, and raffle tickets for grand prize giveaways!

We'll be travelling to a different time and place each week, so come check out the special themed events on Tuesdays at 3 PM!

All Day Gaming every Monday and Thursday in the Teen Scene.

Children's Room Summer Reading 2025

July 7 - August 15

Sign-ups begin Monday, June 30

For children up to age 12.

Help fill our world, and library, with color this summer! Join us for a variety of activities!

The Children's Room Summer Reading program offers unique summer programming including different weekly club meetings, special event Wednesdays, and movie Mondays!

Reading Logs!

Children of all ages are welcome to participate in our reading log program! Children choose their reading goal each week, and when they reach their goal they earn a prize!

BookFlix!

Children ages 7-11 have a choice to participate with reading logs or with our BookFlix program! Sign-up is required.

Join one of the Children’s Room summer book groups! You will receive a book to read for each session, then come back to watch the movie adaptation of each book!

Touch-A-Truck on Wednesday, July 9 at 10 AM - 12 PM. Join the library out in the parking lot to welcome the Exeter Police Department, Exeter Fire Department, and Exeter DPW! No on property parking will be available until 12:30 PM.
Children's Room Painting on Wednesday, July 16 at 9:30 AM or 11 AM or 12:30 PM. Ages 5 and older - Sign-up is required. Paint a 3D animal structure in the Children's Room!
Children's Wildlife Encounters Show on Wednesday, July 23 at 10 AM! Join us in the library's Meeting Room for a show with Wildlife Encounters and their educational animals!
Norman Ng magician on Wednesday, July 30 at 10:30 AM. Join us in the library's Meeting Room for a magical performance! Anticipate tricks, sleights of hand, and a multitude of other entertaining acts!
30th Annual Stuffed Pet Show on Wednesday, August 6 at 10 AM. Join us in the Children's Room with your favorite stuffed animal and enter them in the pet show! See who wins!
Mr. Aaron Music Show on Wednesday, August 13 at 10 AM. Join us in the library's Meeting Room for a multi-instrument performance done by a professional musician!
