			 Shelby 4-H  Science     October 7 @ 4pm   Science-minded tweens and teens can join Shelby 4-H for free and become a member of this monthly club. This year the theme is environmental science. 			Chess Club  October 10 &  October 17 @ 3:30pm   Strategic thinkers who already know how to play chess can join this bimonthly club and play each other to improve their skills and make friends during these two-hour sessions.

			Meet a Junior Librarian Meet Ellie!  She is one of our new Junior Librarians.Her hobbies include dancing and reading. Ellie also enjoys art. One day she would like to visit Paris, France.       Our Junior Librarian Program is an opportunity for tweens and teens to acquire skills and earn over 100 volunteer hours as they assist the library with tasks.

			      Explore the Maker Space Intro to 3D Printing, October12, 2pm  Tweens and teens 12 years old and older can learn the basics of 3D printing.  Intro to Laser Cutting, October 14, 6pm  Tweens can learn the basics and safety of laser cutting. Those 16 and younger must be with an adult to use the laser.  Button Making, October 24, 4pm  Folks ages 14 years old and older can learn to use Canva and our button maker to create custom buttons for fun or promotion.

			  The Friends of the Library will hold their Fall book sale this month! It's a wonderful chance to stock up on great reads at bargain prices -- and support the library!    Friday, October 3 the sale is open to members only from 5pm-7pm. You can join that night and shop! Bargain hunting hours on Saturday, October 4 for the general public are 9am-3pm. Sunday, October 5 from 1pm-3pm is Fill-a-Bag Day! The sale is in the Nan Abbott Meeting Room in the back of the library.
