Preregister for Summer Reading Today! Programs and Tracking Begins on May 30. This summer, you're invited to Plant a Seed, Read! We are kicking off the summer with a Foam Party featuring music and ice cream treats from the Snowy Sweets truck on Saturday, May 30, starting at 1 pm. Read books, complete activities, and attend programs to earn tickets towards raffle prizes! Reading and activities can be logged from May 30 through July 31. Click here to learn more. We have many programs for youth of all ages. Programs planned for elementary-age children are held on Monday mornings at 10 am, including STEM projects, LEGO, games, and crafts! We will have Special Storytimes with community partners, including the fire and police departments, on Tuesday mornings at 10 am. Thursday mornings at 10 AM will be Play Time, with open art, toys, and dance activities planned for preschoolers. You can find dates for each program below. Don't forget to download the Beanstack app to register. Click here for more program details! Waldo and Reading Dragon Cards are back by popular demand! The Good Egg will be hiding each day for an additional search activity this summer. We are introducing Brag Tags to our Summer Reading and will be giving kids the opportunity to collect them throughout the school year by signing up for one of our other challenges. We'll be celebrating America's 250th anniversary this summer with programs and activities! Join us on Tuesday, June 30, for our 4th of July Storytime. We will have stories celebrating our country and the people who make it so special, fireworks projected on the walls, and a balloon artist making balloon art for all attendees. On Thursday, July 2, we'll have 4th of July crafts for kids to make and take home to celebrate. We'll also have a special Storywalk book! Best, Aimee Villet Youth Services Director

Read with Dogs2nd Thursday Once a Month at 6 pm June 11 & July 9 Sit with licensed therapy dogs, and read a story of your choosing! You’ll have 15 minutes to read and pet a loveable dog! We usually have two dogs each night, but we'll only have one in July. There could be a wait if attendees show up at the same time.

Art Unlimited Grades 6-12 Every Other Tuesday at 6 pm June 9 & 23: Smash Journals July 14 & 28: Plant Propagation Join us at the library as we craft and create! Teen After Hours Pizza Party Grades 6-12 June 5 at 6 pm Come to the library after hours for a special teen trivia party with pizza, snacks, and games! Only the teens attending the program will be allowed in the building. No teen will be allowed into the program after 6:15 pm, as we will be locking the entry door for safety reasons.

Escape Room Grades 6-12 Saturday, July 11 At the Glen Carbon Heritage Museum Can you escape our escape room in less than an hour? Gather a group of up to 6 and see how far you get… if you dare! This event will be at the Glen Carbon Heritage Museum. Each group only needs to register under 1 ticket. Groups should arrive 5 minutes early for their reservation. If a group is more than 10 minutes late to their reservation, they will forfeit their spot.
