Celebrate Pride Month with Hoopla
 
June is Pride Month where we recognize and celebrate the contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community to American culture, history, the arts, and more. Hoopla, one of the Library's digital material services, has put together a curated collection of books, audiobooks, and film that celebrate Pride stories and traditions. Click here to check out a title today. 
  
Shredding Day is June 28

The Friends of the Weston Public Library's next Shredding Day is scheduled for Saturday, June 28 from 10am-1pm at the Hurlbutt School bus loop on School Road. Services offered include paper shredding and computer recycling. Click here for more information on the Friends' website!
  
 

 
New Adult Genre Collection: Romance!

As we continue to update our collection and make it easier to browse, we have created our newest adult genre collection: Romance! Located near the Mystery section, this new collection brings together titles from many famous authors old and new who chose to write about the universal language of love. Check something out today!
 
Stay tuned as more genres will be separated from general fiction soon and given their own dedicated space on the shelves!
 
Online Room Reservation System is Live

The Library's new online room reservation system is now live on our website. Using the new system, patrons will be able to see the availability of and reserve a Conference Room or the Community Room. To access the new system, click here!
 
Please note that we will no longer be taking reservations over the phone; use the online system or print a physical application to make a reservation. To access the printable application and policy, click here.
 
Donations

The Library is now accepting donations of the following, in good condition and for all ages: books, DVDs/Blu-rays, and music CDs. Donations may be delivered during all open hours, but large donations must be coordinated ahead of delivery. Boxes/bags of material should be easily lifted by one person. We are not accepting the following: materials in poor condition, magazines, textbooks, encyclopedia, reference sets, or VHS/audio tapes.

Author Talk with Weston's Own: Veena Dinavahi
Tuesday, June 17 at 7:00pm
 
Join us for an author talk with Weston's Own Veena Dinavahi as she discusses her new book, The True Happiness Company: How a Girl Like Me Falls for a Cult Like That. In this darkly humorous and wrenchingly sincere memoir, a young Indian American woman’s dreams of being a well-adjusted college student get wildly derailed when her struggles with mental health land her in the office of a charismatic alternative therapist and his self-help cult.

Adult Summer Reading - Color Our World!
June 20-August 15
 
Join us for great programs and reading challenges this summer. Summer Reading begins on June 20 and is not just for kids! Earn badges through the Beanstack app by logging reading, leaving book reviews, or completing activities. Badges then translate to raffle tickets which can be entered at the Library for a chance to win prizes. If you’ve already signed up for Beanstack, use the same login to sign up for this year’s challenge. You can also earn the 2025 Summer Reading Golden Collectors Coin by completing challenges.
 
We have lots of fun and creative programs planned and can't wait to see how you choose to participate in our 2025 Summer Reading activities! 
 
Make It at the Library: Paint Pouring
Wednesday, June 25 at 6:30pm
 
Mix and pour acrylic paint to create an abstract painting with instructor Cindy Wagner! Students will learn how to thin acrylic paints for pouring techniques to create different effects on two 12" square canvases.
 
This is a messy, but easy and fun painting process. No previous painting experience is needed. There is a $20 materials fee for the class, which must be paid in cash at the Library upon registration.

"A Fresh Look at Homer's Heroines" with author Eirene S. Allen
Sunday, June 29 at 4:00pm 
 
“A Fresh Look at Homer’s Heroines”. A talk with Eirene S. Allen, author of The Epic Women of Homer: Exploring Women’s Roles in the Iliad and the Odyssey. Featuring original translations and a deep dive into the language of Homer, the book restores Homer’s goddesses and heroines to their esteemed positions in ancient Greece and reintroduces them to the modern world.
