We are only in need of the above fabrics.

You can drop your fabric off by the Friends Distribution Center next to the blue lockers. There is a carboard box labeled for these donations.

Community Eco Fair 🌳

In recognition of National Preparedness Month and Climate Preparedness Week, we are hosting an outdoor, community eco-fair!

Join us Sunday, September 21st at 1:30 p.m. to raise awareness about our changing climate and the environment, and celebrate the many groups working towards social, economic, and environmental sustainability.

We'll have tables hosted by Berkshire organizations, food on offer, live music, games from our "Thingdom" and other kids' activities, including a bouncy house and a seed bomb craft table.

All are welcome. See you there!

Fruits of Summer 🍓🌱

As summer winds down and lots of harvesting begins, we invite you to visit our two garden beds in the courtyard and pick what you can!

While the bok choy succumbed to hungry beetles and the strawberries are mostly gone, there is still a lot of basil and even more cherry tomatoes.

If you would like to try the Stockbridge beans, please do, but be sure to leave some on the plants so that we have more beans to plant next Spring.

Laslty, if you have taken seeds from our Seed Library and grown any produce from them, please snap a photo or two and send them to kwilliams@cwmars.org. We'd love to show off your work (anonymously, if that's your preference) on our blog!

Notice: Out-Of-State Fees

At the July Library Board meeting, the Board of Trustees voted to update the fee structure for out-of-state library cards. These adjustments come after many years without change and are intended to reflect rising costs of maintaining services, while also aligning with fees at neighboring libraries.

The new options for out-of-state library cards are:

  • $80 per household/family (including single individuals)

  • $40 for senior citizens (age 65+)

To ensure access remains flexible and equitable, we’ve also introduced a Library Card Fee Support Form. With this, patrons may:

  • Pay the full fee

  • Pay a portion of the fee

  • Contribute more than the standard fee to help others

  • Request a waiver of the fee

In other words: you can pay what works best for you!

We deeply appreciate your continued support and understanding as we pilot this approach over the coming months.
