Hello, and Happy Friday! |
Don't miss out on our children's book reading and talk this weekend with Hannah Moushabeck, author of Homeland: My Father Dreams of Palestine. The event takes place on Saturday, June 8th, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
The book tells of three young girls eagerly await the return of their father, who tells them bedtime stories of a faraway homeland—of Palestine.

Through their father's memories, the Old City of Jerusalem comes to life: the sounds of juice vendors beating rhythms with brass cups, the smell of argileh drifting through windows, and the sight of doves flapping their wings toward home. These daughters of the diaspora feel love for a place they have never been, a home they cannot visit. But, as their father's story comes to an end, they know that through his memories they will always return.
We hope that you will be able to join us for this event - all ages are welcome! Copies of the book will be available for purchase, which Hannah will be happy to sign. See you there!

Alzheimer's and Brain Awareness Month |

This month, the Milne Public Library is taking part in raising awareness about Alzheimer's Disease.
Thanks to a grant awarded to the Williamstown Council on Aging, we recently purchased around 100 adult, teen and children's books about dementia. You can browse these in our catalog, or check out our in-house display. |
Also in partnership with the Council on Aging, we will be hosting multiple programs about dementia and Alzheimer's disease and we recently started hosting an ongoing, monthly caregiver's support group.
