Milne Seed Library . . . and Garden! 🌱

We are still providing seeds for gardeners to take home in the Milne Seed Library! It's too late in the season to plant some seeds, but some still can be planted! Newly packaged seeds include basil, pac choi, bush beans, radishes, cucumbers and cauliflower.

We have also installed two new raised beds in the sunny courtyard, where basil, tomatoes, cilantro, pac choi, squash and Stockbridge Beans - an heirloom seed grown by the Stockbridge-Munsee Band of the Mohican Nation,. All these plants are currently growing in our raised beds.

Also, Sharon Wyrrick will again host a Gardening Roundtable Discussion next Tuesday, June 24th at 5:00 pm. All are welcome!

Please visit the Seed Library Blog to learn more about all of the above.

Call for Donations!

Do you have any used Nerf guns laying around that your children or grandchildren have outgrown? Consider donating them to the library to give them a whole new life!

We are in search of gently used Nerf Guns for future Tween & Teen adventures at the library. You can drop them off at our circulation desk.

If you have any questions, please contact our Teen Librarian, Rocio, at rcarrera@cwmars.org

2025 Mass Teen Choice Book Awards 🎉

The Massachusetts' Teen Choice Book Award is the only award in the Bay State that invites students in grades 7-12 to select their top new books of the year!

Teens who are signed up for our Summer Reading Program (June 18-August 23) will receive a raffle ticket for each MA Teen Choice Book nominee that they read and everyone who votes for their favorite book in September will have their name entered into a drawing for even more prizes!

Meal Kit Ideas

Food Literacy at the Library!

Food Literacy is understanding the impact of your food choices on our health, environment, and economy–and understanding that these impacts are not experienced equitably.

Starting July 1st, our J-IDEA committee is launching its first initiative - Milne's Community Cupboard - and we are asking for your help!

As part of our Community Cupboard, we are asking our community to donate a meal kit that would provide our patrons who are experiencing food insecurity to access free food in addition to the free library services.

Using the link above, you can find multiple examples of a meal kit that you can put together in a reusable bag and drop of at the library's reference desk. If you have any questions, please contact Brianna at bchristie@cwmars.org.
