Hello, and Happy Friday!

Travel the world in a day at our Cultural Showcase tomorrow, May 30th starting at 11:00 a.m.! Join us for food, music, dance, crafts, and more, from over 30 Berkshire county organizations.


Performances include Berkshire African Dance and Drum (B.A.D.D.) Collective, Tamarack Hollow, Gina Coleman & the Misty Blues, and Berkshire Brazil. Enjoy a tasting of food from countries like Germany, Italy, and Morocco.There will also be organizations like the Berkshire Immigrant Center, Chapter Two / Friends of the Library, Literacy Volunteers of Berkshire County, and Mount Greylock Regional High School tabling with resources to let you know about the work they are doing in the region! Regional crafts will also be included.

Not only will you be able to experience cultural food, art, music, and dance at our Cultural Showcase, you’ll also have the opportunity to enter our raffle that has 12 different prizes. 🎉


Collect all the stamps in your travel guide Saturday, May 30th to enter our free raffle drawing. Prizes include STEAM kits, baskets filled with goodies, musical instruments, and gift cards! You don’t want to miss this.

Garden Like a Farmer 🌾

Now retired from vegetable farming at Many Forks Farm, Sharon Wyrrick is using techniques from farming in her home garden.


These techniques can be helpful to ambitious home gardeners wanting to produce vegetables for daily, seasonal use, and even year-round enjoyment. 


Join Sharon, Thursday, June 4th at 5:30 p.m. to get tips and tricks on how to cultivate your own home garden!


From small plots, to larger home gardens, come get some tips and techniques adapted from farm-scale growing to produce more good eating than you thought possible from a small bit of land.

Kick Off Pride Month at the Library!

Join us Saturday, June 6th at 11:00 a.m. for a joyful, inclusive event where stories come to life with color, creativity, and fabulous fun for all ages! 


This vibrant and engaging story hour features fabulous drag performers reading children’s books that celebrate diversity, inclusion, and self-expression.There will also be interactive themed crafts, and a fun photo opportunity for families.


Drag Story Hour events have been embraced by libraries across the country as a way to foster a love of reading, empathy, and confidence in children. This special event will be a meaningful way to highlight commitment to inclusive programming while engaging families in a memorable literary celebration.

America's 250th Anniversary

This summer, the David & Joyce Milne Public Library is participating in the TED Democracy Live program. The main event is a full day of virtual talks about democracy on Saturday, June 13. We will broadcast this event here and all are welcome to attend.You can see the full list of speakers here. 


After the livestream event, additional programs will take place, including a reenactment of Abigail Adams, a number of 250th-related virtual talks, and links to other 250th events happening in the Berkshires.
