Hello, and Happy Friday! |
Week after week, the library captures exactly what we stand for - community, connection, and discovery. Through events, programs, and partnerships, it acts as a bridge, bringing together people, organizations, and ideas that might not otherwise meet. Our upcoming events are another wonderful example of that spirit in action!
On Saturday evening, September 13th at 7:30 pm, we’re teaming up with our friends at Images Cinema for an outdoor movie in our courtyard. We’ll be showing The Music Man under the stars. Isn't there something special about sitting outside on a late-summer night, surrounded by neighbors, watching a classic film together? Bring a blanket, bring a friend, and settle in for a fun time. We'll provide the popcorn, refreshments, and ambience!
Then, on Thursday, September 18th, from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, we’re opening our doors for Welcome to Williamstown - an event for anyone new to our community. Whether you’ve just moved in or have been here a little while, come meet neighbors, discover local resources, and connect with the people and organizations that make Williamstown so special. This is a chance to arrive as a stranger and leave with new connections, new knowledge, and maybe even new friends. Everyone is welcome, and we can’t wait to see you there!
Finally, on Sunday, September 21st from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm, our library garden will be buzzing with energy during our Community Eco-Fair. Local organizations, family activities, and creative ideas for greener living will fill the afternoon. It’s the kind of event where you leave inspired - and maybe with a few new habits and ideas to carry into everyday life.
Each of these gatherings is different, yet all of them capture the same spirit: the library as a place where people come together, share experiences, and leave feeling a little more connected. You can learn more about these events in this week's newsletter.
We look forward to seeing you this week!
With warm regards, The David & Joyce Milne Library Team |

Images Cinema at the Milne
| Join us tomorrow, September 13th at 7:30 p.m. as we kick off our collaboration with Images Cinema in style with The Music Man!
Traveling con artist Harold Hill targets the naïve residents of a small town in 1910s Iowa by posing as a boys' band leader to raise money before skipping town.
Weather permitting, we will be showing the movie outdoors in our courtyard. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets.
Popcorn and some beverages will be available free of charge.
|
|
Please Note: If the weather doesn't cooperate, we will be in the Community Room. The rest of the library building will not be open except for bathroom access.

Community Eco-Fair 🌳 |
On Sunday, September 21st from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. we will host an outdoor Community Eco-Fair, to raise awareness about our changing climate in honor of Climate Preparedness Week and to celebrate the many Williamstown and other Berkshire County groups working towards social, economic, and environmental sustainability.
Please see the full list of non-profits and local agencies attending here!
Because September is National Preparedness Month as well, we will also provide guidance on making "Go Bags" that you can assemble to prepare for weather-related disasters.
Fun for the whole family! We'll have local food, live music, lawn games, an electric vehicle 'petting zoo,' a bouncy house and a 'seed bomb' craft table too!
