Milne Mail: David & Joyce Milne Public Library, Weekly Newsletter
Friday, November 14, 2025

Hello, and Happy Friday!

We're seeking donations! We are requesting leftover rolls of holiday gift wrap, gently used gift bags, ribbons and any other decorative items to use at our gift-wrapping party, Saturday, December 13th at 12:30 p.m.

You bring the presents, we provide the supplies!  Wrap your gifts using our tables, tools and supplies, enjoy music and refreshments while avoiding the prying eyes of gift recipients who might be at home!

Prep Your Spring Garden!

Brighten up your garden with home-made flower seed bombs Saturday, November 15th at 1:00 p.m.

Late fall and early winter are the best time of the year to throw out seed balls that will germinate and begin to grow (fingers crossed) in spring.

We will use Second Chance compost, white clay, and a mix of northeast native seeds to make little seed balls that you can take home and grow.

Fun for the whole family, especially if you're okay with getting your hands dirty - just dress for mess!

It's a Shindig at the Printshop 🎨

Zines, printmaking, risograph, + more at Williams College's Print Shop Shindig!

Join Sawyer Zines, the Art Department, the Milne Library, and WCMA Sunday, November 16th at 12:00 p.m. for a celebration of all things printmaking and publishing!

Try your hand at making zines, LEGO printmaking, printing with risograph, and more.

Open to all ages!

Join Our New Book Group

We're hosting a new library reading group that will cover all kinds of "sustainabili-reads."

We'll read and discuss books and articles about topics including climate change, amazing natural phenomena, the plastic crisis, wildlife and more!

At our first meeting, Tuesday, November 18th at 6:00 p.m., we'll talk about The Milkweed Lands: an Epic Story of One Plant, its Nature and Ecology.

Please request a copy soon, read as much as you can and join us at our inaugural meeting. Can't find one? Ask us for help! You do not have to sign-up to participate.

EMS and What They Do

Join the next Citizens' Academy session Tuesday, November 18th at 5:30 p.m. with  Emergency Management Services to tell us all about the newly formed Northern Berkshire EMS.

They will discuss:

- Mutual aid, what it means and how it works

- Education requirements and billing practices

- Any related topics that the audience wants to discuss or inquire about!

This series is co-hosted by the Milne Public Library and the Williamstown League of Women Voters.
