Milne Mail: David & Joyce Milne Public Library, Weekly Newsletter
Friday, March 6, 2026

Hello, and Happy Friday!

If you have been participating in a coral crochet circle at the Milne Public Library, or elsewhere, all corals are due by April 1, 2026. They can be dropped off at the library or the Williams College '62 Center.

The reef will be publicly exhibited as an immersive theatrical installation at Williams College, in Williamstown, MA, in the CenterStage Theatre at the ’62 Center for Theatre & Dance, opening April 18 and running through May 12, 2026.

Recycle at the Library with Terracycle! 🌏

Last year, the library received a Sustainable & Resilient New England Libraries grant to purchase Terracycle™  "Zero Waste Boxes” to be housed at the library, and they have now arrived!

The boxes are located in the hallway between the Community Room and the Friends' Donation Center.

This project gives the public the opportunity to recycle things that are difficult, or impossible, to recycle otherwise. Each receptacle has signage stating what it is collecting along with details about what can be included and what cannot be placed in them.

Please take a look at the categories and their descriptions to decide what you can collect at home and bring into the library to place in the appropriate receptacles!

Learn About Webcomics

Are you interested in webcomics and what makes them so popular? This informational session, Thursday, March 12th at 6:00 p.m., introduces the world of webcomics - what they are, why people love them, and how to find and read them online. We’ll explore popular platforms, different genres and formats, and share recommendations for getting started.

Whether you’re brand new to webcomics or looking for your next read, this program offers a welcoming overview of digital comics.

If time allows, participants are invited to spend extra time reading a webcomic of their choosing.

Art Workshop: Climate Change Quilt

On Friday, March 13th, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., the Zilkha Center for the Environment will be hosting a community quilting workshop as part of the Climate Change Quilt program series. With inspiration from the AIDS Quilt Project in the 1980s, the Climate Quilt Project is similarly aimed at raising awareness of the deaths associated with climate change. We’re creating Climate Change Quilts with the goal to reflect the problems caused by climate change, solutions, and hope for the future.

This event is open to the public and will be hosted at Griffin Hall, 844 Main St, Williamstown, MA 01267, in Room 3. All materials are provided and no experience is needed!
