Hello, and Happy Friday!
This week, as we celebrate National Friends of Libraries Week, we want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Friends of the Milne Public Library. Their unwavering support, tireless efforts, and steadfast dedication have been instrumental in enriching our community and enhancing the library experience for everyone.
|
|
|
From their valuable contributions at Chapter Two Books to their diligent work at the distribution center and behind the scenes, their hard work truly makes a difference. Without their commitment, we simply wouldn’t be able to offer the wide array of services and programs that our patrons have come to love and rely on. It’s no exaggeration to say that we couldn’t do it without them!
This celebration also presents a wonderful opportunity: not only can we honor the Friends of the Milne Public Library, but we can also promote this remarkable group within our community. For more information on how to join the Friends and help out with their various projects, please visit their website.
"Through the unwavering dedication of our Friends group, we have constant assurance that any idea, be it a special event, after-school snacks for our busy teens, arts & crafts drop-in, and so much more, will come to fruition through their non-stop activity and financial support. Thank you so much to the Friends of the Milne Library!" ~Rocio Carrera, Teen Librarian
All Library Friends groups are invaluable and generous, but few of them have done and achieved as much as the Friends of the Milne Public Library. Thanks to a multitude of tireless volunteers who give their time to collect, organize, sort, move and ultimately sell books at the wonderful Chapter Two Books store, the library has been able to fund a wide variety of programs annually for all ages, from tango lessons and art workshops, to magic shows, book talks and holiday parties. Here's to our very good Friends! ~Kira Williams, Adult Services Librarian
"Working with the Friends of the Library has been a truly rewarding experience thus far; their support, enthusiasm, and dedication are exceptional in the library community. We take immense pride in having such a remarkable Friends group by our side!" ~Angela Zimmermann, Library Director |

Leave the Leaves! |
|
As we welcome the beauty of fall, we invite everyone to consider the benefits of leaving leaves where they fall. This practice supports our local ecosystem and contributes to enhancing biodiversity in our community. Fallen leaves provide essential habitat for overwintering pollinators, enrich the soil as they decompose, and help retain moisture.
Our library's pollinator patch in front is a perfect example of how we can nurture our environment. Let’s work together to protect our local wildlife and promote a healthier ecosystem!
Thank you for helping us raise awareness about these important environmental practices. Learn more down below from our friends at the Xerces Society. | |
