Hello, and Happy Friday!
Join us this Tuesday, the 15th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for an evening of stargazing with Dr. Kevin Flaherty from the Williams College Astronomy Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the wonders of the night sky as Dr. Flaherty guides us in observing the Moon and Saturn. |
|
|
After that, he'll venture on to discuss the vibrant double star Albireo, the mesmerizing Ring Nebula (M27), and the magnificent Hercules star cluster (M13). Dr. Flaherty and his students will bring along their telescope and everyone will have a chance to take a closer look at these celestial wonders.
Please note that the library will close at 8:00 p.m. but the stargazing festivities will continue on the front lawn until 9:00 p.m. Also quite exciting - our stargazing kit is now available for check out, perfect for your own astronomical adventures!
A gentle reminder that the library will be closed on Monday, October 14th in observation of Indigeneous Peoples' Day. | |
