This 10-week course covers the essentials of how to use the basic functions of a personal computer, how to navigate the internet, and how to send and receive email. By the end of the course, you’ll have a foundation for using a computer and the internet to enrich your life.

Do you want to improve your green thumb or just make gardening easier? Technology may be the answer.


Join us in this introductory lecture to learn about different types of gardening tech. We'll go over some popular apps and explain their common features that will help you with everything from designing your garden to identifying plants and caring for them. You'll also learn about outdoor smart irrigation systems and sensors, as well as indoor gardening devices.

By the end of this 10-week course, you’ll be able to use a variety of resources to make your life easier, from managing everyday tasks to communicating with others. You’ll use the internet to explore your interests and passions, connect with others, and even contact your lawmakers. You’ll also learn best practices for staying safe in the digital world and managing your privacy and security settings in the Chrome browser.

Chromebooks: Using Google Workspace

Want to earn a free Chromebook?


Thanks to funding from the TN Dept. of Economic and Community Development the Jones Center can offer free Chromebooks to registered participants of our Using Google Workspace course. 

In this course you will learn to use a Chromebook, online security and privacy, and how to use common workspace tools such as Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar and more. Throughout the class we will explore how Gemini (Google's AI) can be integrated into your projects.


You must attend the ENTIRE Class series to earn the Chromebook. 


The 3 weeks of classes are held from 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm on Tuesdays & Thursdays starting on April 15.
