Beginning on March 17th, we will all need to begin using a 4-digit PIN number when logging into our online MINERVA accounts. This means you'll be prompted to enter your PIN when logging into your account to request items, renew books, or see what you currently have checked out to you. PIN numbers add security to your personal information and allows MINERVA to update their system regularly.
The first time you log on after March 17th, you'll be prompted to create a 4-digit PIN code. Our staff will be able to reset your PIN if you lose or forget it, but we can't view it - so keep it safe! For now, you will not need a PIN to use Cloud Library for eBooks and audiobooks. Please contact us if you have any trouble creating or using your PIN number!
If you have lingering questions about MINERVA, the new PIN number requirement, or are having any trouble using your account, we are offering another MINERVA info session on Monday, March 16th from 2:00-4:00 PM and would be happy to help! |

Fast Fashion with ecomaine |
Fast fashion has transformed the way we buy, wear, and discard clothing - and it has become one of the largest drivers of textile waste worldwide. In the U.S. alone, 11.3 million tons of textiles are landfilled each year, representing 86% of discarded textiles and nearly 6% of the municipal solid waste stream. Unlike paper, glass, or metal, textiles are complex and difficult to recycle. Blended fabrics, chemical treatments, fast-changing trends, and the labor-intensive nature of sorting and processing all present significant challenges. In an engaging presentation with ecomaine on Tuesday, March 17th at 6:00 PM, explore the environmental impacts and drivers of fast fashion, the challenges of recycling textiles, and practical steps you can take to reduce clothing waste through smarter purchasing, reuse, and repair.
