This Holiday edition of our newsletter has all the information about our upcoming 2025 Festival of Trees, including how to get tickets to our swanky Preview Tea and Gala, and how to register for special limited-seating events! Tickets are now available for our Festival of Trees Preview Tea and Preview Gala, taking place on Saturday, November 22nd!
The Preview Tea will begin at 1:00PM. For $25, guests will receive 5 raffle tickets, beverages and refreshments, and enjoy light live music.
The Preview Gala will be held at 6:30PM. For $25, guests will receive 5 raffle tickets, a drink ticket, and refreshments catered by Blue Elephant.
These events give you the chance to be the first to see the enchanting display of holiday trees, and are wonderful ways to support the work of Dyer Library/Saco Museum while enjoying a fun, festive atmosphere with your friends and community members. Online registration is now open for the popular Tea With Mrs. Claus event, taking place on Saturday, December 6th. There are two seatings available, at 12:00PM and 1:30PM. The event includes a story read by Mrs. Claus, a craft to complete, hot cocoa and cookies, and a special keepsake for each child to take home. There is no charge for this event, but registration is required as space is limited. Please visit our events calendar and click on one of the seatings to reserve your spot.

Sensory Friendly Family Time |
|
|
If your family's visit to the Festival of Trees exhibit would best succeed with a smaller crowd and a slower pace, please join us for our Sensory-Friendly time on Sunday, December 7 from 10AM - noon. Reservations are required for our Sensory-Friendly hours to keep numbers low. This opportunity will allow families with special needs to book an appointment to visit the Festival of Trees. Only two families will be booked at each 15 minute increment so that everyone can explore and enjoy the exhibit. Please visit the Events Calendar on our website to register.

Extended Festival of Trees Museum Hours
|
|
|
The Saco Museum will keep special extended hours for the duration of the Festival of Trees, beginning on Friday, November 28th. The exhibit is free of charge and open to all thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and Community Partners. The 2025 Festival of Trees will close on December 28th.

Special Red & Lulu Storytime
|

Did you know that one of the large pine trees next to the Dyer Library building is going to be the City of Saco holiday tree this year? Unfortunately we were advised that the tree needed to be removed, and happily we were able to donate it to the City to spread holiday cheer! To celebrate, we will have a special storytime on Monday, December 1 at 3:00PM. We'll read "Red & Lulu" by Maine author Matt Tavares, a story about two cardinals and their miraculous journey to reunite in New York City, as well as share hot cocoa and a festive craft.

Start off your holiday week with us! Our Monday Movie Matinee Series continues on Monday, November 24th at 12:15pm with the Thanksgiving classic, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. We'll provide lemonade - please feel free to bring a lunch or snack to enjoy while watching the movie on the big screen in the Deering Room.

Join Delani for stories, rhymes, and a fun, fire-safety–themed craft. We’ll also have a snack to enjoy! All are welcome—please register on our Events Calendar so we can prepare supplies. |

When you visit the Library this November, take a moment to decorate a leaf and add your message to our Thankfulness Art Project! Help us create a beautiful display celebrating gratitude. You can stop by the Children’s Room to participate or print a leaf template at home and bring your creation in to add to our collection.
