August 2025

Summer is always an exciting season at Dyer Library/Saco Museum, and this August is particularly eventful with our transition to Minerva! Being part of a statewide consortium is a huge benefit to all DLSM patrons. We're here to help you navigate our new system so ask all the questions you'd like, and please be patient as we find out the answers! It's brand new to us too!

August also brings our Annual Used Book Sale, a much-loved community event. Don't forget to get your tickets to our special Preview Night Event for first crack at the hidden treasures buried within the thousands of books for your perusal.

Welcome to MINERVA

We are thrilled to announce that Dyer Library/Saco Museum has officially joined the MINERVA consortium, a shared library system that brings together over 60 libraries of all types from across the state!

What does that mean for our patrons? Access to more physical and digital resources, shorter wait times for popular books, a better online user interface, and more freedom to borrow items from all around Maine! It also means that all patrons need an updated library card, available at the Circulation Desk and Youth Services Desk, and will need to BRING THEIR CARD when borrowing items from the library! We know this might take some getting used to, and our new cards come with a handy keychain fob to make it easier.

We would also vastly appreciate your patience as we all learn to navigate this new system together. We're so excited about the benefits this change brings!

Book Sale Preview Night Tickets

Tickets are now available for our popular Book Sale Preview Night event, taking place on the evening of August 15th from 6:00-8:00 PM! Visitors can ask questions and observe museum work in action!
