The Invisible Life of Addie Larue
V.E. Schwab
Recommended by:
Kylie Luciano (Youth Services Librarian)
Meet Addie Larue- but you may forget her. Addie has been cursed with eternal life and nobody to remember her by. Until one day she meets Henry who says the three magic words, "I remember you".
This book was magical! An interesting story with a twist. I fell in love with Addie and Henry, wanting the best for each of them and hoping that they get the life they deserve. This book is slow but worth the wait to read the end! |

I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer
Michelle McNamara
Recommended by:
Jordan Kazen (Circulation Assistant)
Michelle McNamara was an incredible writer whose passion for this case is evident throughout her writing. She portrays the victims respectfully, something that happens infrequently in true crime reporting. It's tragic that she passed before the book was completed and before the Golden State Killer had a name.
"Letter to an Old Man" is one of the best parts of the book and the perfect ending to what was still considered a cold case when McNamara wrote it. It's incredibly written and so chilling. Especially now that we have a name to give to the elusive Golden State Killer: Joseph James DeAngelo.
This book is an account of actual crimes that occurred in California. Reader discretion is advised given the graphic nature of the crimes. |

Instructions for Traveling West: Poems
Joy Sullivan
Recommended by:
Michaela Triemstra (Circulation/Processing)
Instructions for Traveling West was a fantastic collection of poems. I love how relatable her poems are, with many touching on moving away from home, growing up, and navigating adulthood. Each poem was inspiring and thoughtful in its own way, and it was lovely starting my morning off reading a few of Sullivan's poems.
If you're looking to get into poetry, Joy Sullivan's poems are a great place to start! |
