We are looking to fill two seats on the Library Board this upcoming year. Candidates must reside within the Waterford-Halfmoon Union Free School District, and be available to fill a 5-year term (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2031). Candidates must submit nominating petitions with at least 25 signatures no later than May 22, 2026. The vote will be held at the Library on June 3, 2026. For more information, please contact Chloe Whittaker: (518) 237-0891 or watpublibrary@gmail.com.
Expanded Library Hours
Thanks to the approved 2026 Budget last year, we are pleased to announce that we are expanding our hours beginning Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Going forward, we will be open until 8pm on Wednesdays instead of closing at 5pm. Starting the last week of March, we will be handing out magnets with our new hours for anyone who would like one.
Winter 2025 Community Survey Results
We had 97 people respond to our community survey last year -- thank you to everyone who submitted feedback! Below is a list of some of the most commonly asked for items and what we plan to offer to address the need. There are a few things we are still working on, including dementia care kits, more young children's programming, and a tool lending library. Please feel free to continue to pass additional ideas on to us: watpublibrary@gmail.com. We always want to hear what you have to say!

Seed Library coming March 20th!
We’re pleased to announce the launch of our new Seed Library, available to the community beginning March 20. Stop by to pick up free seed packets and start your garden. We hope this resource helps reduce food insecurity while encouraging sustainability. A seed-saving program will be offered this fall so participants can harvest and save seeds for the following year or return seeds to help the library sustain the collection. Initial seeds were generously donated by Cornell Cooperative Extension and Bentley Seed Co.
