Summer is nearly here and we have a new gazebo! We want to invite everyone to a celebration of this new screened outdoor program space on Wednesday, June 15 from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Friends of the Library will provide refreshments. We have already started to have our weekly story hour in this airy space, as well as other programs that are much more fun without masks. We hope you will come by and lift a glass to celebrate this wonderful addition to the library which was made possible through a NY State Library Construction Grant, as well as generous donations from members of the community.
We have the last two programs of our Snyder Estate spring series in the coming weekends: Foraging the Spring Bounty, followed by Fungi and Rosendale Ecology. Please sign up on the library’s website. We are still working on finding a new date for the Geology of Rosendale program and will keep everyone who registered notified.
If you enjoy e-books, you will be happy to know that our library system Mid-Hudson Library System, (MHLS) has partnered with Upper Hudson Library System (UHLS) so you can now borrow books from that system through your Libby or OverDrive app. You will need to add Upper Hudson Library System to your account, and then toggle back and forth between the systems to search for titles. You can place holds only on titles in the MHLS catalog, but you can now borrow titles that are available from the UHLS catalog. UHLS has many more unique titles than MHLS so this partnership is a win for MHLS patrons.
We look forward to seeing everyone, all ages, for our summer reading kickoff ice cream social on Friday, June, 24. We will have lawn games, board games, chalk painting, summer reading sign ups and prizes.
