Monday, March 3 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Jodi Petitpas, Senior Development and Communications Manager at My Friend's House in Collingwood, will be discussing the history of South Georgian Bay's women's shelter, as well as the issues involved in keeping a shelter's doors open during challenging times. Pollinators presents film: Monarch Ultra Thursday, March 20 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Simcoe Street Theatre Join us for this inspiring film. In 2019, a team of ultra runners and environmentalists followed the flight of the monarch butterfly by running the same distance of 4,300km (2,671 miles) from southern Ontario to central Mexico. The Monarch Ultra was the first attempt to run across North America (Canada, United States and Mexico) to raise awareness of monarch butterflies who make the migratory journey every year, and whose populations are in decline.

National Indigenous Languages Day Monday, March 31 Did you know that we have a small collection of books available in Anishinaabemowin, Cree and Inuktitut? We also have Mango Languages in our digital database and Transparent Language includes several lessons on various Indigenous languages. Book As Muse Art Contest *Art submission deadline on Friday, March 28 Create a piece of art - any size, any medium. The only catch? It must be inspired by a book. How the book inspired your piece is entirely up to you! Submit your art, along with a completed entry form (available at the circulation or youth services desk) by March 28th. All submissions will be exhibited in the library throughout the month of April, and winners will be announced at the exhibition opening reception on Friday, April 4th, 4-6pm. For youth ages 13-17.
