Pitkin County Library hosts Raising A Reader's Little Red Bag Club, Bolsitas Rojas, for caregivers and their 0 to 5-year-old children who are not enrolled in school. This event takes place in the Dunaway Community Room.

Lego Nights at the Library

Join us on the first Friday of the month for Lego building fun in the Children's Room! Each month we will work as a team to complete a large Lego project. There will be solo build options available. All Lego will be provided by the Library.

Babysitter's Training with Georgina Levey

Saturday, December 6 | 9:00am-5:00pm


This course prepares youth ages 11-16 to safely and confidently care for children and infants. It includes hands-on activities, videos, and discussions to develop essential, real-life readiness babysitting skills. This event will take place in the Dunaway Room.


Registration is required. Class size is limited to 16 participants.

Dungeons & Dragons

Become the hero of your own adventure! Join us on a magical journey where we'll rely on our wits, imagination, and teamwork to play Dungeons & Dragons. No experience necessary!


Campaigns are run by Library staff members in the Library Lab Classroom. Recommended for players ages 12+.

Children's Genre Book Club

Join us on the third Friday of each month in the Children's Room for hearty book discussion with friends, food, and fun activities to pair with our reading!


This November, we will discuss Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Partypooper by Jeff Kinney, and hand out copies of the new Dog Man: Big Jim Believes by Dav Pilkey.

Ornament Decorating

Gift Wrapping and Holiday Movie Marathon

Gift Wrapping

Join us in the Hotpick Meeting Room to wrap last-minute gifts away from prying eyes! Bring your own materials or borrow ours. Wrapping paper and other festive supplies will be made available first-come, first-served.


Holiday Movie Marathon

In the Children's Room, we'll be screening beloved holiday favorites and serving hot cocoa and popcorn! Staff will be present to supervise the movie magic.

Frozen Movie Marathon and Craft Party

Expect glitter and giggles aplenty as we watch winter favorites Frozen & Frozen II and make craft magic!


This event will take place in the Dunaway Room.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Start healthy, early literacy habits by helping your child read 1,000 books before they start kindergarten! Sign up in person to receive an activity book and receive prizes for every 100 books read together.
