Snowmass Village Library  Book Room

Open Mondays - Fridays in October | 8:30am - 4:30pm

Staffed on Thursdays | 11:00am - 2:00pm


Visit the Pitkin County Library's Book Room located at the Snowmass Village Town Hall. Peruse our selection of titles including adult fiction and nonfiction books, as well as Spanish language, young adult, and children's books. A computer and printer are also available for accessing digital resources or any printing needs. The room will be staffed by a librarian from 11:00am - 2:00pm on Thursdays. Learn more.

Join us for a rotating monthly craft program on the first Saturday of the month. The activity will be different each month, so stop by, explore, play, and learn new skills!


For the month of October, we will create twine pumpkins using materials provided by the Library, while supplies last.

Let's Chat In Spanish/¡Conversemos en español!

Tuesdays in October | 1:00pm - 2:00pm


This is a weekly program designed to bring together speakers of all levels to practice conversational Spanish in a relaxed, friendly environment. Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, this program provides an opportunity to enhance your language skills. Led by a native Spanish speaker, the sessions encourage confidence, improve fluency, and foster a sense of connection among participants.


¡Conversemos en español! es un programa semanal diseñado para reunir a hablantes de todos los niveles para practicar español conversacional en un ambiente relajado y amistoso. Tanto si eres principiante como si tienes un nivel más avanzado, este programa te ofrece la oportunidad de mejorar tus habilidades lingüísticas. Dirigidas por una hispanohablante nativa, las sesiones fomentan la confianza, mejoran la fluidez y promueven un sentimiento de conexión entre los participantes.

Bob Ross

Paint Like Bob Ross

Tuesday, October 7 | 4:00pm - 6:00pm


Join us for an evening of painting! We will watch a Bob Ross, The Joy of Painting video and follow along. We will use acrylics and a smaller canvas so you can take it home at the end of the event. Advanced registration required.


All brushes, paints, canvas and required supplies are to be provided. Snacks and tea will be provided. This event is not a class; we encourage people to learn through trial and error.

Practicing Hope Together

Wednesdays in October | 5:00pm - 7:00pm


Practicing Hope Together is an adult workshop series exploring hope, particularly when hope seems hard to find. This workshop’s purpose is to allow communities to cultivate hope that is honest about current conditions, that is restorative when everything feels urgent, and that is possible even when we feel hopeless.


Your facilitators are Stacey and J.R. Atkins, who reside in Snowmass Village. Over four consecutive weeknight evenings, they will strive to enliven the excellent curriculum with engaging conversations as well as quiet time for processing some challenging topics. Stacey is a certified spiritual director, a Reiki master, and writer. J.R. is a pastor serving Aspen Community Church and a life coach.

Bike Maintenance and Repair Workshop

Bike Maintenance and Repair Workshop

Want to learn more about maintaining, tuning and repairing your bicycle? With a little knowledge, anyone can learn basic bike maintenance skills.

Learn the basics of bike maintenance to help you maintain a clean and safe bicycle.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes and tools.

Lunch n' Learn

Wednesday, October 15 | 12:00pm - 1:30pm


This monthly program offers assistance with personal technology support for your phone or tablet, as well as navigating the internet, email, or social networks like Facebook.

Want to learn how to access ebooks, audiobooks, or movies on any device? Join us the third Wednesday of the month. Lunch is provided - bring your questions and your device.

Sewing 101: Glow-in-the-Dark Tote Bags

Thursday, October 16 | 4:00pm - 6:00pm


Local resident Jennifer Hanson is a sewing expert! Join Jennifer to learn various sewing skills. Workshops are by age and/or activity and take place in the Library Lab on select Thursdays from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.


For this session, join us to make spooky Halloween-themed tote bags with glow-in-the-dark embroidery. This program will combine machine sewing and hand embroidery. First come, first served. Limited to 15 participants.

Bookbinding: Painted Edges

Saturday, October 18 | 3:00pm - 5:00pm


Learn beginner bookbinding skills. No prior experience is necessary. Each program will build on skills learned in previous sessions, but beginners are always welcome.


For the month of October, we will paint edges using materials provided by the Library on a first come, first served basis.

Fiesta de Arte del Día de los Muertos

En el salón comunitario Dunaway de Pitkin County Library.

Esta reunión comunitaria es gratuita y está abierta a todas las edades. Visite la Biblioteca del Condado de Pitkin en cualquier momento entre las 11:00 am y la 1:00 pm. Celebra el Día de Muertos con arte y manualidades. Se invita a participantes de todas las edades a crear altares tradicionales y calaveras decorativas mientras aprenden sobre el significado cultural y las costumbres de esta festividad tan especial. Day of the Dead Arts & Crafts

Located in the Dunaway Community Room at the Pitkin County Library.

This community gathering is free and open to all ages. Drop by the Pitkin County Library any time between 11am-1pm. Celebrate the Day of the Dead with hands-on arts and crafts. Participants of all ages are invited to create traditional altars and decorative skulls while learning about this special holiday’s cultural significance and customs. The program aims to provide the whole community with an engaging and creative experience. This bilingual program is made possible by the Pitkin County Library and Anderson Ranch Arts Center.
