Girls Who Code

Come and engage with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in an environment that fosters problem solving, teamwork, and personal skill development! Each of the eight sessions in this Fall 2025 club will include instruction as well as hands-on project work.


No coding experience is necessary! For students in grades 3-5. This event takes place in the Library Lab Classroom.

Homework Hangout

Join us every other Thursday for some after school homework support and focus sessions. Peer lead homework help is encouraged, though there are quiet spaces and solo options available. Music and snacks are always aplenty! All ages 18 and under welcome. This event takes place in the

Though staff will always be present, there will be no professional tutors available unless otherwise stated.

Bolsitas Rojas / Little Red Bag Club

Pitkin County Library hosts Raising A Reader's Little Red Bag Club, Bolsitas Rojas, for caregivers and their 0 to 5-year-old children who are not enrolled in school. This event takes place in the Dunaway Community Room.

Lego Nights at the Library

Join us on the first Friday of the month for Lego-building fun in the Children's Room! Each month we will work as a team to complete a large Lego project. There will be solo build options available. All Lego will be provided by the Library.

Children's Genre Book Club

This November, we will discuss I Survived the Black Death, 1348 by Lauren Tarshis, and hand out copies of the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Partypooper by Jeff Kinney for December.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Start healthy, early literacy habits by helping your child read 1,000 books before they start kindergarten! Sign up in person to receive an activity book and receive prizes for every 100 books read together.
