Visit us every Sunday starting January 26 for Pitkin County Library services at the Redstone Inn. A staff member will be available in the Redstone Inn Book Room to provide regular Library services to our Crystal Valley patrons. Children's Storytime from 10:30-11:00am.

Let's Chat In Spanish/¡Conversemos en español!

Tuesdays in April | 1:00pm-2:00pm


This is a weekly program designed to bring together speakers of all levels to practice conversational Spanish in a relaxed, friendly environment. Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, this program provides an opportunity to enhance your language skills. Led by a native Spanish speaker, the sessions encourage confidence, improve fluency, and foster a sense of connection among participants.


¡Conversemos en español! es un programa semanal diseñado para reunir a hablantes de todos los niveles para practicar español conversacional en un ambiente relajado y amistoso. Tanto si eres principiante como si tienes un nivel más avanzado, este programa te ofrece la oportunidad de mejorar tus habilidades lingüísticas. Dirigidas por una hispanohablante nativa, las sesiones fomentan la confianza, mejoran la fluidez y promueven un sentimiento de conexión entre los participantes.

Learn the basics of sewing with expert Jennifer Hanson in our Sewing 101 Workshops! In Buttons and Zippers, learn how to add buttons and zippers using the sewing machine and hand sewing. Learn more.

Crafting at the Library: No-Sew T-Shirt Bags

Saturday, April 5 | 3:00pm-5:00pm


Join us for a rotating monthly craft program on the 1st Saturday of the month. The activity will be different each month, so stop by, explore, play, and learn new skills!


For the month of April, we will create no-sew t-shirt bags using materials provided by the Library on a first come, first served basis.

Aspen Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Livestream

Sunday, April 13 | 7:00pm-8:30pm





The Aspen Hall of Fame and the Pitkin County Library will be hosting a free “Live Stream” of the 2025 Hall of Fame induction ceremony.


The 2025 inductees are Bob and Ruth Wade, passionate outdoor enthusiasts who have created a legacy of stewardship and outdoor education; Paul Andersen, professional writer and founder of “Huts for Vets”; and Erin Fernandez Ely, former Pitkin County judge who approached the legal system in a humanistic manner.

Library Concert Series: Chamber Music with the Flatiron Five & the Juniper Winds

Tuesday, April 15 | 5:30pm-6:30pm


As part of our Library Concert Series, and in collaboration with the Aspen Music Festival and School, we are pleased to welcome The Flatiron Five Brass Quintet & The Juniper Winds Quintet for an evening of chamber music.

 
The graduate ensembles regularly perform recitals at the College of Music, and are involved in outreach programs in the Boulder community and beyond, including an educational residency with the Aspen Music Festival and our Roaring Fork Valley schools.

Lunch 'n Learn

Want to learn how to access ebooks, audiobooks or movies on any device? This monthly program offers assistance with personal technology support like your phone or tablet, as well as navigating the internet, email, or social networks like Facebook. Join us the third Wednesday of the month. Lunch is provided - bring your questions and your device.

Bookbinding: Paper Making

Saturday, April 19 | 3:00pm-5:00pm


Learn beginner bookbinding skills. No prior experience is necessary. Each program will build on skills learned in previous sessions, but beginners are always welcome.


For the month of April, we will participate in paper making using materials provided by the Library on a first come, first served basis.

Aspen Words literary prize livestream party

Community Read: Livestream Party for the Aspen Words Literary Prize

Wednesday, April 23 | 4:00pm-6:00pm


Who will win the 2025 Aspen Words Literary Prize? Join us to watch the awards ceremony in real-time!


Attendees at the Library’s viewing party will be able to delight in the evening’s most exciting aspects: a conversation with the finalist authors led by Bilal Qureshi,  independent essayist, broadcaster and critic, and the live announcement of the $35,000 prize winner.


Enjoy light refreshments, mingle, and find out who will win this year's Literary Prize as it is announced at the Morgan Library in New York City. Refreshments and snacks will be available, as well as a chance to win a raffle prize! All attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for a free copy of the winning book, which will be featured in the 2025 Community Read this summer.


Please register so we can provide the appropriate amount of refreshments and snacks.
