Maxwell Reilly: the Artistry of Piano
Saturday, April 11 -- 5-6 pm Dunaway Community Room, Aspen, CO
|
|
From Bach and Chopin to Rachmaninoff -- the great composers were adept at improvising for audiences during performance. This skill has largely disappeared from modern concerts, where memorization and technical acuity have become the norm.
Pianist and composer Maxwell Reilly will give us a rare opportunity to hear the piano as it used to be performed, as a showcase for artistic creation. He will be presenting both a selection of his favorite pieces, including works by Bach, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Ravel, as well as his own original works and improvisations -- celebrating both composers that he loves, as well as his own vision as an artist.
Join us for an unforgettable evening of music with pianist Maxwell Reilly. |
