Snowmass Village Library  Book Room

Open Mondays - Fridays in August | 8:30am - 4:30pm

Staffed on Thursdays | 11:00am - 6:00pm


Visit the Pitkin County Library's Book Room located at the Snowmass Village Town Hall. Peruse our selection of titles including adult fiction and nonfiction books, as well as Spanish language, young adult, and children's books. A computer and printer are also available for accessing digital resources or any printing needs. The room will be staffed by a librarian from 11:00am - 6:00pm on Thursdays. Learn more.  


Snowmass Village Storytime at The Collective begins for the summer on Thursday, June 26 from 10:30am - 11:00am. Learn more.

Aspen Music Festival and School Concert Series

Through August 22, we are excited to host the talented students of the Aspen Music Festival and School, as they perform classical works that will include solo repertoire, as well as chamber music and vocal works.

Crafting at the Library: Button Making

Saturday, August 2 | 3:00pm - 5:00pm


Join us for a rotating monthly craft program on the first Saturday of the month. The activity will be different each month, so stop by, explore, play, and learn new skills!


For the month of August, we will create fabric and paper buttons using materials provided by the Library, while supplies last.

Let's Chat In Spanish/¡Conversemos en español!

Tuesdays in August | 1:00pm - 2:00pm


This is a weekly program designed to bring together speakers of all levels to practice conversational Spanish in a relaxed, friendly environment. Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, this program provides an opportunity to enhance your language skills. Led by a native Spanish speaker, the sessions encourage confidence, improve fluency, and foster a sense of connection among participants.


¡Conversemos en español! es un programa semanal diseñado para reunir a hablantes de todos los niveles para practicar español conversacional en un ambiente relajado y amistoso. Tanto si eres principiante como si tienes un nivel más avanzado, este programa te ofrece la oportunidad de mejorar tus habilidades lingüísticas. Dirigidas por una hispanohablante nativa, las sesiones fomentan la confianza, mejoran la fluidez y promueven un sentimiento de conexión entre los participantes.

Summer Reading Closing Party

Join us on our Rooftop Deck for the final Adult Summer Reading event! We will discuss your favorite books you read over the summer while enjoying food and refreshments. 


During this event, we will draw raffle tickets, so they must be submitted before 12:00pm!

Paint Like Bob Ross

Thursday, August 7 | 4:00pm - 6:00pm


Join us for an evening of painting! We will watch a Bob Ross, The Joy of Painting video and follow along. Acrylics and a smaller canvas will be used so your artwork can be taken home with you! All brushes, paints, canvases, and other required supplies, as well as snacks and teas, will be provided. 


This event is not a class; we encourage people to have fun, and learn through trial and error. Advanced registration is required.

Bookbinding: Paperback to Hardcover Rebind, Session 1 & 2

Saturday, August 16 & 30 | 3:00pm - 5:00pm


Learn beginner bookbinding skills. No prior experience is necessary. Each program will build on skills learned in previous sessions, but beginners are always welcome.


In August, we will rebind a paperback to a hardcover using materials provided by the Library. This project will take place over the course of two sessions and participants must attend both sessions to complete their project.

  • Session 1: Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 3pm-5pm.
  • Session 2: Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 3pm-5pm.

Registration for these events is required. Additionally, please select one paperback book from the book sale to rebind (for free) and drop it off at the main desk by August 14. Step one will be to tear off and discard the old cover, so please do NOT plan to use your own book.

Lunch n' Learn

Wednesday, August 20 | 12:00pm - 1:30pm


This monthly program offers assistance with personal technology support for your phone or tablet, as well as navigating the internet, email, or social networks like Facebook.

Want to learn how to access ebooks, audiobooks, or movies on any device? Join us the third Wednesday of the month. Lunch is provided - bring your questions and device.

Sewing 202 Workshop: Tote Bags

Thursday, August 21 | 4:00pm - 6:00pm


In this slightly more advanced workshop, participants will take on a more challenging project. Participants are expected to know the basics of using a sewing machine. This workshop is hosted by local sewing expert Jennifer Hanson.

Supreme Court Cases Explained with Liz Siegel

Tuesday, August 26 | 5:30pm - 6:45pm



Local retired attorney and educator Liz Siegel will present on notable Supreme Court Cases of the last term. Learn about federal and state court systems, how cases make their way to the Supreme Court, and the opinions that informed the Court's decisions this year. 


Additionally, Liz will give a preview of important cases that have been accepted for the next term. Attendees are welcome to ask questions throughout.


Liz Siegel, JD is a retired attorney who practiced at NASA Headquarters and at a Washington, D.C. homeless shelter. She taught American Government for several semesters at Colorado Mountain College.
