April Highlights
Library Giving Day 2025
Tuesday, April 1, 2025

Library Giving Day is a one-day fundraising event with the goal of encouraging people who depend on and enjoy public libraries to donate to their individual library system. And in turn, that support will go toward the incredible programs, services and materials provided by local libraries all over the country. Held this year on Tuesday, April 1, it is an event that gives library lovers like you a chance to elevate and support your local library. For over 60 years, Simpson Public Library has been a vibrant place for the community of Mechanicsburg and the surrounding area to learn, grow, and thrive. We are a lifeline to many, connecting people to opportunities, resources, and assistance. Your financial gift will help equip Simpson Library to adapt to the changing times and growing need for our many critical services.

They process and put requested materials on the holds pick-up shelves. They serve on the Board of Trustees and the Friends Board of Directors. They run the book sales. They help out at events like the Summer Learning Kickoff, Fall Festival, and Holiday Party. And the list goes on and on! Volunteers are an integral part of everything we do. What's on Display

Display Case
Pete Albert is our featured artist for April's lobby display. He has been interested in drawing and painting from an early age. Pete graduated from Mount Aloysius College with a degree in Commercial Art. After pursuing a career and a calling to missionary work, it wasn’t until about four years ago that he was able to pick up his love of painting and, in his words, “depict a scene from nature, but also to take you to a certain time, mood, and atmosphere, acting as the tour guide to your journey.” Don’t miss this colorful and personal display in our lobby for the month of April.
