It's a Holiday Story Time for the whole family! Santa will be reading a story to us from the North Pole on Zoom, and everyone will receive a Take and Make bag with fun crafts and games. Register by December 9.
What do you do when the kids want one more story, but you still have one more Zoom meeting? Hand them a Wonderbook from Simpson Library! It's a print book with an audiobook preloaded and ready to go. With the press of a button, the book is read aloud to your child while they follow along. You're welcome!
Put your items on hold as usual, and once you're notified that they are available to be picked up, head on over to Simpson. Give us a call — 717-766-0171 — from the parking lot with your library card number, and we'll check out your items and bring them outside for you.
Programs for Adults, Teens, and Children
All visitors, including children 2 years old and older, are required to wear a
face covering in the library, even if you are maintaining social distancing.
English Conversation meets every Monday via Zoom. Tea and Stitches and our book clubs also meet via Zoom. Please email Joelene Diana at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. Mah Jongg meets every Thursday; space is limited and registration is required.
All children's programs in December will be presented through Zoom. We've added a Wednesday morning Toddler Time! It meets at 11:10 am. Register for programs and receive the Zoom link either the day before or the day of the event.
Keep the spirit going with seasonal-themed trivia, from the comfort of your own home. Grab the ugliest Christmas sweater you own and join us in this special edition of Trivia on December 26! Cheaters Never Prosper will host a virtual trivia game for us. Only 25 people can sign up, and your entire household can play under one sign-up. Please register online for this event.
The bin is gone, but your donations can still support Simpson Library. Simply take your donation to your localCommunity Aidstore and advise them that the proceeds go to the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library. Community Aid will donate $0.06 to the library for every pound of clothing collected.
This month, the lobby display is created by Ernie Kepner. Ernie is a collector of all things Christmas. This year, the theme he is bringing to us is Santa Claus. You will be amazed when you see how many shapes, colors, and themes are included!
And don’t forget to check out our tree.
It is also decorated by Ernie.
