Beanstack is our reading challenge website. Signup for an account, add your readers, then track minutes read through the Summer Challenge- BLAST OFF! Access Beanstack through a web browser or through the app. To complete the BLAST OFF Summer Reading Challenge and qualify for the grand prize draw, read a total of 1260 minutes (just 30 minutes per day) between July 1 and August 12! County-Wide Summer Scavenger Hunt Beanstack Challenge: Chasing Constellations July 2 – August 31 Humans have been making shapes out of the stars in the sky for all of human history! TD Story Walk: The Darkest Dark Thursday, August 1 to Thursday, August 29 Drop-In The TD StoryWalk - a fun activity that places a children’s book, page by page, on poster boards along a path - is back! This year’s book is “The Darkest Dark” by Chris Hadfield and Kate Fillion. Be sure to look for our activity sheet that goes along with it and see if you can find all the items listed using the pages on the StoryWalk poster boards outside the library! All ages. To celebrate an amazing summer of reading, we are welcoming The Relative Minors, a children’s band from Cambridge, Ontario, to our community! Enjoy a fun and groovy performance with hilarious, beautiful and catchy songs about sandwiches, libraries, guitar-playing dinosaurs and banana-eating walruses. The Relative Minors will have you singing and dancing until bedtime! Due to anticipated high demand we are hosting this event at the Straffordville Community Centre located at 56169 Heritage Line. This is an all-ages show and *caregivers are expected to stay and enjoy the show and provide supervision for their children during the entire performance.* After the show, every child will receive a refreshing snack to take home.
