Coco Movie Streaming Event
 
Celebrate Día de los Muertos with a special screening of Disney Pixar's Coco at the Branciforte Library!

Carl Rohrs Calligraphy Lecture 
 
Carl Rohrs is a Santa Cruz lettering artist, graphic designer and retired sign painter. He teaches graphic design and typography at Cabrillo College, and modern calligraphy workshops internationally.

Cascada de Flores:
Una Ofrenda Musical
 
A bilingual and participatory performance that explores the Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos) with song, dance, tradition, personal stories and a large variety of musical instruments. You are invited to dance and sing with Cascada de Flores on a musical journey sharing Día de Muertos traditions from Mexico and Central America, as well as our imaginations.

 In this workshop for teens we will explore how poetry can be a powerful tool for activism and social commentary. We will write about our visions for a better world, our criticisms and fears of the one we’re in, and our wisdom about how we get from the imperfect now to a more perfect future. Saying it Out Loud: Poetry for an Audience with Poet

Reading your work out loud requires a specific set of skills. In this workshop, teen writers will learn how to use inflection, pacing, volume and more to give your work the meaning it deserves for an appreciative group of listeners. No experience necessary.

This workshop for teens hones in on ways to produce poetry from everyday occurrences, find motivation to write, and utilize poetry as a funnel for the inner voice.

Migratory Birds of the SLV & Why They're Fantastic 
 
Join us to learn about a few winter migratory bird species occurring in the San Lorenzo Valley.
During this hour-long program, we'll chat about fun facts, their ecology and life history and, furthermore, how to identify these fabulous birds. We'll conclude the event by learning about community-science based ways to get involved.
