July is Disability Pride Month
Disability Pride Month is an opportunity to honor the history, achievements, experiences, and struggles of the disability community. Why July? It marks the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, landmark legislation that broke down barriers to inclusion in society.
Here is a booklist for kids, teens, and adults.
 


 
Reading Programs @ SCPL
Online Skills Reading Program
Santa Cruz Public Libraries has purchased scholarships for 1st to 3rd graders with the Institute of Reading Development. The Institute for Reading Development is part of the Santa Clara University Schools of Education & Counseling Psychology. This is a free 6 week online program. The class size is limited to 1 to 3 children. They offer flexible scheduling.

R.E.A.D.
One-on-one reading comprehension instruction for readers in Kindergarten through 12th grade with credentialed teachers.
