The Battle of Colson's Mill : Death Knell of the Carolina Tories
by  O. C. Stonestreet IV

A forgotten skirmish of the American Revolutionary War was fought just outside of present-day Norwood, North Carolina in the sweltering heat of July 21st, 1780. A small but determined force of Patriot militia under the command of Colonel William Lee Davidson launched a surprise attack in the early morning hours against the gathering Tories at Colson's Mill. Though tired by a fast-paced march, and outnumbered at least two to one, the Patriots carry the day at this critical moment of the Southern Campaign. The victory will deny the British much needed supplies, men, and intelligence as they advance northward into the heart of the Carolina backcountry.
The Battle of Cowan's Ford : General Davidson's Stand on the Catawba River, and Its Place in North Carolina History
by O. C. Stonestreet IV

Local Patriot militia under the command of Brigadier General William Lee Davidson clash with the British forces under Lord Charles Cornwallis along the banks of the Catawba River in the early morning hours of Feb.1st, 1781. The ensuing engagement is short, yet decisive in its long-standing impact on North Carolina's historic memory of the American Revolutionary War. This work contains a full narrative of the engagement, historiography, photographs, and selected transcriptions of original communications prior to the battle.
A Quick and Bloody Affair : The Skirmish at Torrence's Tavern
by O. C. Stonestreet IV

What was thought to be a small and simple skirmish after the Battle of Cowan's Ford on February 1st, 1781 turns out to be a far larger and bloodier fight between Tarleton's Legion and the Carolina Militia. Historian O.C. "Chris" Stonestreet IV delves into the final chapter of his works on the battles of General William Lee Davidson in... A Quick and Bloody Affair: The Skirmish at Torrence's Tavern.
