Teen Volunteer Orientation

Looking for something fun to do this summer? Are you going into 7th-12th grade in the fall? Would you like to assist with children and
teen programs?
We are looking for teen volunteers to help out June 1-August 31.If you are interested, register online, then attend an in person or
virtual training.

Bring your helmet, and bike, trike or scooter to learn the rules of the road at our annual 
Bike Rodeo.  
 
Love puzzles? Mind-blowing experiments and the unexpected? Meet Dr. Picklestein,  the electrifying alter-ego of Boise State University's Henry Chalier, PhD.
 
The Reptile Man will introduce us to reptiles from around the world, including an African tortoise, American alligator, cobra, rattlesnake, and a large Burmese python. 
 
Don't miss Squid Dissection with Mobius Science Center! Discover how these marine creatures navigate the oceans and what makes them different from the creatures who live above the waves. Space is limited. **REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED**

Stamps Around the World

Did you  know on May 1, 1840, the Penny Black, the first adhesive postage stamp, was issued in the United Kingdom? 
Pick up your Postage Stamp booklet and stop by the library each week during open hours to complete activities and challenges related to stamps from around the world. 
Collect new postage stamps each week to add to your collection. Log into Beanstack to track
your progress.
 
 
Color Play

Learning about colors helps young children sort, organize, categorize, and compare objects. And color play is also really fun! top by the library to engage with hands-on color activities and watch your child bloom.

Help celebrate summer by decorating the library's walkaways with bright colors and positive messages. Sidewalk chalk and cool treats
will be provided.

Programs for young learners, Birth-4

Young learners will explore the world around them this summer through water science projects at Splashpad STEAM.
 
Squish and mush your way to messy sensory playtime with edible goo and rainbow spaghetti. Come dressed for mess at Totally Untidy Tots.
 
Summer Storytime has stories, games, and hands-on activities for children and their caregivers. Have a baby that is not quite ready for storytime? Join us at Book Babies, a program designed for our youngest library users (birth-2).

Lions, Tigers, and Bears.... oh my!
Explore the Emerald City, play the Lollipop game, create a tornado in a bottle, and decorate a 'brick' as part of our "Welcome to summer!" party.
