Health Literacy

What does it mean to be health literate?

Health literacy is the complex interplay of knowing how and where to find health information, understanding that information, and knowing how to use that information to make sound health decisions for yourself and your family.

While we're not doctors and can not (will not!) give you medical advice, librarians can help you find and evaluate information resources.  Keep an eye out for programs all this month that will help you deep-dive into different health-related information and activities.

Welcome to the Winter Reading Challenge!
Image reads: Winter Reading Challenge. January 1st - February 28th. Text is on a winter scene with a yet seen sledding on a book down a snowy hill and a second yeti holding a stack of books.
All-yeti Reading?

This winter we're inviting members of all ages to participate in our annual Winter Reading Challenge.  You can pick up a rack card at your favorite library, but to win the raffle you have to log in to Beanstack (a librarian can help you if you're not that tech savvy!).

The challenge ends at the end of February, but it's not too late to join!  Even one task completed can gain you entry into the raffle for a prize.

For each challenge you complete, you'll earn a raffle ticket (up to 10!) that you can then enter into your choice of prize: an Amazon Fire, a gift card to a local bookstore, or a cozy reading basket.

YOU choose which prize you want your tickets to go towards.

*Prizes provided through a grant from our Friends of the Library.  Thank you Friends!*
