“Of all the months of the year there is not a month one half so welcome to the young, or so full of happy associations, as the last month of the year." Charles Dickens

On December 9th, the Community Library Network will celebrate the grand reopening of the Post Falls Library. Closed in January 2024 to repair the damage caused by flooding, the Post Falls branch of the Community Library Network has seen a dedicated team work to restore and improve your local library.
I would especially like to thank Randy Zepeda, the CLN Facilities Manager, for all that he has done to coordinate the many crews involved in this extensive project. Thanks also to Lindsey Miller-Escarfuller, the CLN Assistant Director, and Jennifer Craft, the Post Falls community librarian, who led the efforts to keep library services going through the closure and to bring us successfully to the grand reopening. Please join us on December 9th from 12pm – 2pm for our ribbon cutting ceremony and festivities. As we close out 2024 and look forward to 2025, I hope that we can all enjoy the restoration of the Community Library Network—safe and welcoming to the young and full of happy associations.

While traditional literacy focuses on the ability to read and write, digital literacy encompasses a broader range of skills essential for proficiency in today's digital age.

These skills include:

  • Internet navigation
  • Information evaluation
  • Internet safety
  • Digital communication
  • Media literacy
  • Data literacy
  • Digital citizenship
  • Familiarity with digital tools and software
  • Critical thinking
As our world continues to evolve in the digital landscape, we are all on a journey to develop and refine these skills.
