Health Literacy Focus According to the National Library of Medicine health literacy involves the information and services that people need to make well-informed health decisions. It is the ability people have to find, understand, and use information and services to make health-related decisions for themselves and others. And it is absolutely vital for our well-being! At the public library, we're not health professionals, but we are information pros--we can help you find, access, and evaluate resources so you can make better informed decisions.
