Health Literacy Focus

According to the National Library of Medicine health literacy involves the information and services that people need to make well-informed health decisions.  It is the ability people have to find, understand, and use information and services to make health-related decisions for themselves and others.  And it is absolutely vital for our well-being!

At the public library, we're not health professionals, but we are information pros--we can help you find, access, and evaluate resources so you can make better informed decisions.

Special Family Event for Athol and Post Falls Communities:
Going to Seed
Going to Seed

May is the last month of our Going to Seed series and seed giveaway.  This year, we've been focusing on native plants.  Though our series is almost over, you can still catch a class on native plants, xeriscaping, and firewise landscaping.  Our speaker, Marrion Newsam-Banks is the president of the ABC Garden Club and well-known as one of our local experts on xeriscaping.  We think it'll be exciting to hear what she has to share in this class.

In addition to attending programs, pop-in to any of the libraries for a small sample of native plant seeds that you can take home and plant for free!
